2006 is a year of limited production. The artist’s son is born in March, and his only brother, Carlos, dies in May. At the same time the exhibitions of Enredaderas continue to travel through Venezuela, and the artist travels with them. Collectors request the series. The Enredaderas that are made that year are mostly commissions for private collections. When there is time, the work returns to the flowers.
The first two sit on a brown ground, the color of fall. They are begun around November 2005 and finished in January or February 2006, before the son is born. The last two are begun in November and December 2006 and completed early in 2007, and their ground is lighter. Throughout the year the paintings are reworked. Colors are changed, especially inside the flowers. No work is left alone. The four paintings carry the conditions of the year: the travel, the birth, the death, and they are placed here for that reason. The rest of the production has not been located.
The series of Enredaderas does not stop. It continues.
 

 

 

2006 es un año de producción limitada. El hijo del artista nace en marzo, y su único hermano, Carlos, muere en mayo. Al mismo tiempo las exposiciones de Enredaderas siguen viajando por Venezuela, y el artista viaja con ellas. Los coleccionistas piden la serie. Las Enredaderas que se hacen ese año son en su mayoría encargos para colecciones privadas. Cuando hay tiempo, el trabajo vuelve a las flores.
Las dos primeras se asientan sobre un fondo marrón, el color del otoño. Se empiezan alrededor de noviembre de 2005 y se terminan en enero o febrero de 2006, antes de que nazca el hijo. Las dos últimas se empiezan en noviembre y diciembre de 2006 y se completan a principios de 2007, y su fondo es más claro. A lo largo del año las pinturas se rehacen. Los colores se cambian, especialmente dentro de las flores. Ninguna obra se deja quieta. Las cuatro pinturas llevan las condiciones del año: el viaje, el nacimiento, la muerte y se colocan aquí por esa razón. El resto de la producción no se ha localizado.
La serie de Enredaderas no se detiene. Continúa.
