2007 is the year the practice moves from Venezuela to Taos, New Mexico. The artist, his wife, and their son remain there until March 2008. The move follows the events of 2006 and precedes a large exhibition schedule in 2009. The desert is chosen for the absence of outside noise and for a period of healing. Three series are made. Approximately seventy works are completed in the studio in New Mexico between May 2007 and May 2008.
New Horses returns to the carousel. The horses are no longer objects. They are living horses, free of masks and paraphernalia. Most are shown in full. A physical horse appears beside transparent horses or faces. The series returns to the body and the soul. Numbers related to the brother’s death on May 16 appear in the paintings. They function as a map of departure and of how to continue.
Flowers Three returns to the flowers. As in 2001, the flowers mark a period of chaos. The palette of both New Horses and Flowers Three is taken from the desert of Taos.
Caleidoscopio Matutino is made on Arches paper. The figures, the horses, and the cars are left without color. They are drawn in charcoal and acrylic. The work is transparent. It is the spiritual register of the same subjects.
The year is one of reflection and of healing. The series continue.

New Horses vuelve al carrusel.
Flowers Three vuelve a las flores.
